NRW Trophy Blog 4: Free Dance & Wrap-Up!

Today, the 2012 NRW Trophy has come to an end with many wonderful free dances from teams all over the world. It was definitely a long day with practices starting as early as 6:30 a.m. and the award ceremony finishing at 6 p.m.!

Chris and I really enjoyed our first NRW competition and, we were very happy to make this event our debut for the season. We had a late start due to injuries from the previous season, but we came here prepared and ready to compete, despite Hurricane Sandy and not skating for four days!!! But nevertheless, we did what we could and enjoyed it immensely! We won the silver medal and shared the podium with gold medalists Pernelle Carron & Lloyd Jones (FRA), and Valeria Starygina & Ivan Volobuev (RUS), who took bronze.

Congratulations to all the dance teams for all their great performances, and thank you so much to the people of Dortmund! Everyone was so nice and helpful. We had such a lovely time here, and we can’t wait to come back again!!!
