Hi everyone,
We are writing to you all today to announce the end of our partnership. The past 2 years have been some of the most fun we’ve had in skating, however following Nationals we both realized we wanted different things out of this sport. We were so lucky to be invited to various shows last year, which made the year very special. I was able to do my very first Ice Chips, thanks to Michael, and I will always thank him for that! We met so many amazing people who supported us like crazy, and that’s why last year was a special one for us. On the other end of things, we didn’t have the most successful competition season, which has led us to discover what each of us desired to achieve in our skating careers.
Michael has decided to continue skating while weighing out his options of training locations as well as countries. He is committed to continuing through the following Olympic season in hopes of gaining international exposure. During this time Michael will be continuing his business degree program in hopes of finishing his college degree in the next year.
I (Isabella) have decided to retire, which was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. After a lot of thought and a lot of emotions, it feels like the right choice. I know I’ll miss it like crazy come Nationals every year, but it’s time to focus on other things, and getting excited for what’s to come! I am going to devote all of my time to coaching now, and I will also be looking into becoming a Technical Specialist, and into Team Leading. I have been in this sport for so long, and wanted to take this time to thank everyone who has been with me through my 19 years of skating. I’ve been very fortunate to have had such an amazing career, and I couldn’t be more proud of what I’ve accomplished. Even though I am retiring, that doesn’t mean I’m going to disappear from the sport… I’ll just have a different role of coach and loving supporter!
Before we end things, we would like to thank all of our fans, friends, and family who have supported us over the past 2 years. We love you all!
