2016 Four Continents Blog #3 by Min & Gamelin
Hey everyone!
Competition is over. Everyone skated really well, despite the fact that the ice felt like the Himalayas. We think the zamboni blade must have been crooked, because there were gigantic grooves all along the ice surface. But! We couldn’t be happier with our ISU Championships debut. We skated two of the best programs we could have skated and ended up higher than we could have expected.
Sorry we didn’t get to you sooner, but Alex came down with a pretty nasty stomach bug the night after the free dance. Pretty good timing, we would say. So, while Alex was in bed all day Saturday, Yura got a chance to go to the Night Market with some of the other ice dancers. There were lots of games, food, and more bubble tea! There’s also something here called “stinky tofu” and wow, was it horrendous.
Alex is feeling better today, so we’re going to try to go see some more of the sights around Taipei. We’ll let you know how it goes in our next update!
