2015 JGP USA Blog #4: Just a little shopping!

It’s been another great day in Colorado Springs! I woke up early and got ready for the big day ahead of me.

After eating a quick breakfast with my roomie Vivian and Logan, we took the shuttle that launched our exciting day! We got to the rink and had a thirty minute practice in the Ice Hall, and then we had the perfect amount of time to bask in the sun. After our minds and bodies felt happy and rested, we headed to the deep, dark depths of the World Arena to warm up for our short dance competition.  Well it’s not actually too dark or deep, but I felt that intense sort of mood as I listened to Eminem and marched down the stairs.

Finally, it was time to get ready! I wiggled into my purple dress and laced up my skates and it was go time! The five minute warm up was good, but I was eager to get back on the ice and perform our program. The skate was good, and we are currently in 3rd place! So exciting.

I went to the Golden Bee for lunch with some of my family, wandered around the Broadmoor and then headed back to the OTC. I accidentally missed all of the ladies while I ate lunch, but I watched videos after and they were amazing!

I had a nice relaxing afternoon of shopping in the OTC gift shop (just a little!) and Facetiming my friends back home and giving them a virtual tour of the OTC. I can’t wait to compete our fierce tango tomorrow, but until then, I need to stay focused.
