2014 JGP Tallinn Blog: Toompea!
Good evening,
It’s already night time here in Tallinn. I’m writing to you just before getting to bed.
Day Three
We had a very relaxing day. I got another 11 hours of sleep. I’m still catching up for the fact I wasn’t able to sleep on the plane.
I met Anthony for breakfast and then went back to our room to catch up on email, snapchat, Instagram and things like that. Internet is something we tend to take for granted back home. I have none in my room (well almost none), but when I stand close to the door or in the hallway I’m able to send, but not receive.
We took the 1:30 bus to the rink for our 30 minute practice. The practice ice is not getting any warmer, so this is unbelievable. Practice was fun and good. We were the last ones on music rotation and a lot of people came to watch us. We love it! We spent sometime after practice with our training mates Carolina, Adam, Holly and Daniel and watched the last practice group and that was it for skating today.
Anthony and I were anxious to go visit the old town so that’s what we did with our coach, Greg. Old Tallinn, “Toompea” (I think that’s what they call it in Estonian) is beautiful. It’s a medieval city full of churches, coloured houses and narrow streets. We walked, took pictures and had dinner outside in an Estonian restaurant, the food was amazing!
I’m now ready for a good nights sleep because tomorrow it’s Samba time!!
Good night,
Christina
